Central Texas is known for some pretty big storms in the Spring and Summer months. One of the leading causes of roof damage here in Central Texas is wind. In fact, about 25% of roof damage is caused from wind-related events, according to Travelers insurance. Wind damage does not have to be just from smaller tornados either. We get some pretty powerful straight-line gust here, and if your home is exposed to these winds, damage can and will occur.

Wind damage will often be observed following an event by seeing tree branches on the ground, non-secured items in your yard blown down the street, or gone for good or other significant damage of property.
Roof damage can sometimes be observed by seeing loose or out of place shingles, missing shingles or even buckling shingles. You may even begin to notice water marks or leaks inside your home. The wind will actually find weak points in the roof and prey and twists it's way up and under your roof. We don't recommend climbing your roof with loose or missing shingles as this can be very dangerous. It is also not completely evident from the ground that your roof is damaged.
