Central Texas is known for some pretty big storms in the Spring and Summer months.  Many of these storms can create severe thunderstorms that produce smaller pea size hail to golfball size or even larger hailstones.  Depending on the age and the materials of your home's roof, any of these types of hail can produce adequate damage requiring a repair or complete roof replacement.

SUSPECT HAIL DAMAGE/ WHAT TO LOOK FOR?

The fastest way is to determine damage is to look for any dents or broken parts of gutters, skylights, windows, or even dented airconditioner units.  Getting on your roof to determine damage should be done very carefully and by a trained professional.

Hail damage can look like a few granules have come loose on the roof, There’s not necessarily a hole in the roof, you’d be surprised at the force it takes to knock the surface materials off of a shingle. When this is discovered, the integrity of the shingle has been compromised, and a water leak can develop over time. Even the smallest hail impact on a shingle can lead to a roof leak.

We have inspected thousands of roofs in Central Texas. We can quickly and easily determine if damage has occurred and simple next steps in order to repair or replace your roof.

Roof Wind Damage

One of the leading causes of roof damage here in Central Texas is wind. In fact, about 25% of roof damage is caused from wind-related events, according to Travelers insurance.  Wind damage does not have to be just from smaller tornados either. We get some pretty powerful straight-line gust here, and if your home is exposed to these winds, damage can and will occur.

SUSPECT WIND DAMAGE? WHAT TO LOOK FOR?

Wind damage will often be observed following an event by seeing tree branches on the ground, non-secured items in your yard blown down the street, or gone for good or other significant damage of property.

Roof damage can sometimes be observed by seeing loose or out of place shingles, missing shingles or even buckling shingles. You may even begin to notice water marks or leaks inside your home. The wind will actually find weak points in the roof and prey and twists it's way up and under your roof.  We don't recommend climbing your roof with loose or missing shingles as this can be very dangerous.  It is also not completely evident from the ground that your roof is damaged.
